Supporting refugees, asylum seekers, displaced migrants and low-income groups to change their lives through free technical and soft skills training.

Code Your Future helps refugees, asylum seekers, displaced migrants and people on low incomes to change their lives through free technical and soft skills training. CYF provide free courses in Basic Online Skills, Introduction to Digital Skills, Introduction to Programming and Software Development – equipping participants with the technical and employability skills to embark on new career paths.

Delivered across the UK through in-person workshops led by industry volunteers, CYF now operate in five UK regions. As hiring in tech has transformed, CYF has deepened its curriculum and added new AI and skills training to increase employability. The Hg Foundation’s grant exclusively supports those who are asylum seekers, refugees, and/or low-income on their most in-depth programmes – the Intro to Programming and the Software Development Course. Part of the grant also supports CYF’s data and impact measurement, enabling them to refine their programme and assess their impact on employment and other outcomes.

“CodeYourFuture empowers refugees, asylum seekers, and low-income individuals to reshape their futures through free tech education. Thanks to the support of The Hg Foundation, we'll expand our diverse community of professionals, turning lived experiences into powerful tools for social change and economic opportunity. We’re excited by the potential for companies within the Hg portfolio to join our mission, and the guidance colleagues in the Hg Foundation network can offer to our organisation with their experience with growing companies.”
